With repairs like screen or battery replacement, your data stays on the device — we work with data preservation in mind. The exception is a lockout reset for a forgotten passcode: due to Apple’s security, all data is lost unless you have an iCloud backup. Making a backup before a repair is always a good idea anyway.

If possible, back up beforehand via iCloud or your computer, and keep your passcode handy so the device can be tested after the repair. Does your device not work at all, or are you unsure what’s broken? Just bring it in: a technician will check your iPhone Air and recommend the right repair.

Both options exist; which is needed depends on the damage:

• Replace glass only — if the crack or split is only in the glass and the touchscreen still responds normally, we replace only the glass layer. The original OLED display is kept, so brightness and colors remain as you’re used to. This is the cheapest option.
• Replace entire screen — needed for dead pixels, a touchscreen that no longer responds well, or severe internal damage (for example from water damage). Then the entire screen, including the OLED panel, is replaced; besides the original panel, there’s also a compatible OLED variant.

If the touchscreen still works well, we usually recommend replacing just the glass first. The price per variant is at the top of this page.
