Try this yourself first

These safe steps rule out the most common causes before you look further.

  • Test with a different, original cable and a different outlet or USB port
  • Check the charging port with a flashlight and gently remove lint with a dry, soft brush — never a needle or liquid
  • Restart your device manually using the buttons
  • Leave the device on the charger for a good while before concluding it doesn't work
  • Did moisture get into the port? Turn the device off and dry the outside — don't put it in rice, that doesn't help and can cause more damage
