iPhone charging port replacement
Is your iPhone not charging anymore? Or only when you hold the cable at exactly the right angle? Annoying, because you never know if your battery will last the day.
Good news: it's usually not that bad. Lint and dust build up in the charging port and disrupt contact with the cable. We start with a diagnosis, clean the port if that's enough, and replace the flex cable if not. You'll find FIXNOW in Antwerp and Wolvertem.

- Your iPhone only charges when the cable is at a certain angle
- You have to hold or press the cable to keep contact
- Charging stops as soon as you move the device
- The cable feels loose in the port
- It works with one cable but not with another
What you can try yourself first
Look inside the port in good light
Do you see lint, dust, or dirt in the opening? Then that's probably the problem. It's the most common cause of charging issues.
Clean it very carefully
Use something soft that isn't made of metal, such as a wooden toothpick. Don't force anything and don't use liquid.
Try a different cable
This rules out the cable itself as the problem, rather than the port.
Charge wirelessly in the meantime
Does your model have MagSafe or Qi? Then you can charge wirelessly until the port is repaired.
How FIXNOW handles it
Diagnosis
We check whether the problem is in the port and identify which port type your model has: Lightning or USB-C. Then we discuss the price before doing anything.
Repair
Is there dirt in the port? Then we clean it thoroughly. Is the port's flex cable damaged? Then we replace it.
Testing
We test charging with several cables and check that contact stays stable, even when the device moves.
Lightning or USB-C: it makes a difference
Up to and including the iPhone 14, Apple uses the Lightning port; from the iPhone 15 onward, it's USB-C. The part we fit therefore differs per model. Let us know which iPhone you have when booking an appointment, and we'll take that into account.
Frequently asked questions
Why won't my iPhone charge anymore, even though the cable looks fine?
In most cases, lint or dust is stuck in the charging port, so the plug no longer makes good contact. It looks like a cable problem, but the cause is often in the device itself.
Does every iPhone have the same charging port?
No. Up to and including the iPhone 14, Apple uses Lightning; from the iPhone 15 onward, it's USB-C. We can repair both ports.
Can I charge my iPhone wirelessly in the meantime?
On models with MagSafe or Qi, wireless charging can be a temporary solution until the port is repaired. Not every model supports this.
Is cleaning enough, or does something need to be replaced?
Careful cleaning often solves the problem already. If that doesn't help, we replace the port's flex cable. We assess that during the diagnosis.
Can I clean the port myself?
Carefully, with something soft that isn't made of metal, can sometimes already help. Don't use sharp metal objects or liquid: that will damage the port. Not sure? Feel free to stop by.
Where can I go with an iPhone that won't charge anymore?
To FIXNOW in Antwerp or Wolvertem. We'll examine your device, start with a diagnosis, and discuss the price before we begin.
