Your iPhone 16 uses a USB-C port. When charging stops working properly, the port is checked and cleaned first, since dust or debris is often the cause. If the port itself turns out to be damaged, the part containing the USB-C port is replaced, which depending on the device can mean swapping a module or a soldered connection.
