Try this yourself first

Before you assume the device is broken, these steps rule out the simplest causes.

  • Connect the device to a working charger and cable for at least a while, even if nothing shows on the screen
  • Force-restart using your device's button combination
  • Test with a different charger and cable to rule out a faulty adapter
  • Check the charging port for dirt and gently clean it with a dry, soft brush
  • Did the device get wet recently? Turn it off right away and just let it sit — rice is a myth that can actually make the damage worse
