Glass, panel, or full lid: what do we replace?

A MacBook screen consists of an outer glass layer on top of the LCD panel, and the display lid around it: the housing with hinges and camera. After a drop, usually only one of those parts is actually broken.

Just the glass

Is there only a crack or star in the glass, while the image stays sharp and free of streaks? Then we laminate new glass onto your own panel. The original LCD panel and lid stay in place.

Just the LCD panel

If you see lines, blotches, or a fading backlight, the panel itself is affected. We open the display lid and replace only the faulty LCD panel with an original panel that includes backlighting. Your own housing, hinges, and camera stay unchanged, and color accuracy and True Tone remain the way you're used to. That's usually considerably cheaper than a full lid replacement elsewhere.

The full display lid

Only if the housing itself is damaged — a bent hinge, a dent in the lid — do we replace the entire lid, including camera and hinges. That happens less often than you might expect.

Protecting your screen after the repair

Open the lid from the middle, not from a corner, and never lift your MacBook by the screen. Check before closing it that nothing is lying on the keyboard. On the go, a padded sleeve or a separate laptop compartment helps against pressure in a full bag.
