OnePlus water damage repair
Dropping your OnePlus in water feels like panic in slow motion. The device still seems to work, so you hesitate: switch it off or test everything first? That testing is exactly what causes most of the damage.
Once moisture gets in, it doesn't sit still. It eats away at contacts and solder points, even if the screen still responds normally right now. The faster FIXNOW can open and clean your device, the more there is to save.

Check for yourself
- Device won't start or gets stuck in a restart loop
- Spots, streaks or condensation under the screen glass
- Blurry camera from moisture behind the lens
- Speaker sounds muffled or crackles
- Charging port doesn't respond, or you get a moisture warning as soon as you plug in the cable
What to do right after the accident
Switch your OnePlus off immediately
Power running through a wet logic board causes short-circuits, and that's often the damage that really finishes a device off. Don't charge it either, not even to check if it still responds.
Pat it dry and let it drain
Remove the SIM tray and let that opening drain facing downward. No hairdryer, not on the radiator: heat drives moisture deeper into the device.
Skip the rice
Rice doesn't draw moisture out of a logic board. You only lose time with it, while the corrosion keeps working.
Bring the device in
Come by in Antwerp or Wolvertem. If that's not possible right away, you can also mail it in.
Why waiting isn't an option
Corrosion continues as long as there is moisture in the device. Water with minerals, especially seawater or chlorinated pool water, attacks copper contacts and solder points. A greenish coating forms on connectors that conducts current poorly or not at all. That process keeps gnawing away, day by day.
Please note
- A OnePlus that turns back on by itself after drying isn't cured: the corrosion is still there
- A battery that has gotten wet can no longer be trusted
- Water damage falls outside the manufacturer's warranty for virtually every brand; the moisture indicator inside the device reveals contact with water
How we handle it in the workshop
We start by opening the device, not with promises. First we disconnect the battery, so there's no more power on the board. Then we inspect the logic board and connectors for moisture and corrosion.
Cleaning
We thoroughly clean affected areas and remove corrosion from contacts and solder points.
Replacing what can no longer be saved
That's often the charging port and the battery, sometimes also the screen or a camera module.
Testing everything again
Calling, charging, sound, cameras and sensors: we test every function afterward. When you pick it up, you test it along with us.
It can go wrong without full submersion too
Your OnePlus doesn't need to go completely underwater to suffer water damage. A rain shower in your inside pocket, steam in the bathroom, sweat during a workout or a spilled drink on the table: those are the cases we see most often.
Many recent models, from the OnePlus 13 to the Nord series, have an IP rating against dust and water. That rating applies to a new device under test conditions. Seals age, and after a drop the protection is often less than the datasheet promises. So don't rely on it blindly.
Honest advice, even when that means advising against repair
With water damage, we don't promise a result before we've seen the inside of the device. First a diagnosis, then you'll hear what we found and what repair costs. We only start once you've agreed. If the damage is too extensive, we'll say so plainly. We'd rather give honest advice than a bill for a device that keeps struggling.
Not sure if repair is still worth it? Choose your model above, or simply come by in Antwerp or Wolvertem with the device. Then we'll take a look together.
