PS5 DualSense controller repair
Push the left stick forward and your character still walks left? Or does a button only respond after a few presses? Familiar to many PS5 players, and always at the worst moment. Usually nothing serious is going on — the parts you use most simply wear out fastest.
At FIXNOW in Antwerp and Wolvertem we take a calm look at your controller. Stick drift, sticky buttons, a controller that won't charge anymore: we know it well and we know where to look. We run a diagnosis first, explain what's going on, and discuss the price. That way you know where you stand before we begin.

PlayStation 5 Slim (2023)from € 49
PlayStation 5 (2020)from € 49Does this sound familiar?
- Your character moves on its own, even when you're not touching the stick (stick drift)
- A button only responds after several presses
- The triggers feel different than before or no longer respond smoothly
- The controller no longer charges, or only when the cable sits in a certain position
- The battery drains quickly, even after a full charge
- The controller randomly disconnects while playing
What you can try yourself first
- Try a different USB-C cable: sometimes it's the cable, not the controller
- Carefully clean the area around the sticks, without opening the controller
- Check for visible dirt or dust around the buttons or triggers
- Test whether the controller responds when connected with a cable
How FIXNOW handles it
Diagnosis
We test the sticks, buttons, triggers, and charging separately. That way we know exactly which part of your DualSense is causing the issue.
Repair
Depending on what we find, we replace the analog sticks, a button, a trigger, or the controller's battery. With the adaptive triggers we work extra carefully: that's a sensitive part.
Testing
After the repair we test all buttons, sticks, and triggers again and check that the controller charges correctly. Only then do you get it back.
Good to know
- Stick drift is caused by wear on the analog sticks and rarely resolves on its own. It's best not to open the controller yourself: the adaptive triggers especially are sensitive. Have it checked at FIXNOW in Antwerp or Wolvertem, and you'll quickly know what's really going on.
Frequently asked questions
Can a controller with stick drift always be repaired?
In most cases, yes. Stick drift is caused by worn analog sticks, and those can be replaced. We run a diagnosis first to confirm it's the sticks, then discuss the approach with you.
What if my buttons stick or stop responding?
Buttons and triggers are also individual parts we can replace. We test each button separately, so you only pay for what's actually needed.
Can the adaptive triggers be repaired too?
The adaptive triggers are a sensitive part of the DualSense. During diagnosis we look at exactly what's going on and explain the best solution.
My controller won't charge anymore, is that the battery?
It could be. The controller's battery is a replaceable part. But it could also be the cable. During diagnosis we rule that out step by step.
Can I try anything myself before coming in?
Yes, a few simple checks can already tell you a lot. On this page you'll find which steps are safe to try yourself, without opening up the controller.
Where can I get my PS5 controller checked?
You can come to FIXNOW in Antwerp or Wolvertem. We run a diagnosis first, explain what's going on, and discuss the price before we start. The repair is often ready while you wait.
