What complaints bring a PlayStation 5 in to FIXNOW?
Most consoles that come in have suddenly started making a lot of noise or getting hot while gaming: usually it’s just dust in the fan. On other consoles the picture drops out on the TV, which is usually down to the HDMI port, especially if the cable was ever pulled out at an angle. Getting a PlayStation 5 cleaned or repaired: how does FIXNOW approach it?
During a cleaning, the console is opened up and the fan is thoroughly cleared of dust, so the cooling works normally again and the device runs more quietly. The casing and the original parts are left untouched, only the dust disappears.
If the TV no longer shows a picture, we first check the cable and the TV itself before replacing the HDMI port. After that repair, the console recognises your screen again just like before, and everything stored on the console, such as your games and profile, simply stays intact.
For a controller that drifts or no longer charges, we replace the worn part so you can aim precisely again. You can drop off the console or controller in Antwerp or Wolvertem, or send it in first, after which we look together at exactly what’s wrong before the repair starts.
Repair it or buy a new console?
A PlayStation 5 from 2020 still works perfectly well in most cases, apart from the fan, the HDMI port, or the controller. Having a single part repaired is cheaper than a brand new console, and all your games, saves, and settings simply stay in place. As long as the rest of the device holds up, repairing it is usually the logical choice.
