Samsung water damage repair
Dropped your Samsung in water or got it seriously wet? Turn it off and don't charge it. The water itself rarely causes the worst damage. That's down to corrosion on the circuit board, which starts the moment moisture and current meet.
At FIXNOW in Antwerp and Wolvertem, we open your device, disconnect the battery, and clean whatever has been affected. After the diagnosis, you'll hear what we found and what the repair involves. Can't come in? You can also mail in your device.

Check for yourself
- The device no longer starts up or is stuck in a restart loop
- Spots or streaks on the screen
- The speaker sounds dull or distorted
- The microphone no longer picks up your voice
- The charging port refuses to work or charges intermittently
- The device worked fine at first and then fails days later anyway
First aid: what you can do right now
Leave your Samsung switched off and don't plug it into the charger: current on a wet circuit board makes the damage worse. Remove the SIM tray so moisture can escape, and pat the device dry with a soft cloth.
What you'd better not do
- Don't shake it and don't use a hair dryer
- Don't place it on a heater: heat drives moisture further inside
- Skip the rice trick: rice barely draws moisture out of a sealed smartphone, and rice dust tends to work its way into the charging port
After that, come in as soon as possible in Antwerp or Wolvertem. We can do what you can't at home: open the device, disconnect the battery, and clean the circuit board. Does it happen outside opening hours? Leave the device off and come in first thing the next morning.
How we handle it
Opening it up and disconnecting the battery
Only then does the corrosion stop. Every minute of current on a wet circuit board counts.
Under the microscope
We look for white or green buildup on connectors, corroded contact points and burnt-out components. This shows us exactly where the water reached.
Cleaning
An ultrasonic bath, then isopropyl alcohol on the connectors. After that we check everything again under magnification.
Diagnosis and approval
Sometimes the device simply starts up again after cleaning. Often more is needed: a new battery, charging port or screen. You'll hear what we found, and we only continue once you approve.
Which parts are at risk?
Usually three: the charging port, the battery and the circuit board. The charging port sits at the bottom and catches the first water. We don't trust a battery that's been wet without checking it. On the circuit board, it's mainly the small connectors for the screen and camera that suffer.
Watch out for a swollen battery
- Is the battery swelling? Don't walk around with it — bring the device in right away
The screen can be affected too: moisture between the layers leaves marks that never fade, and then only replacement helps. If the damage runs deep into the logic board, it gets trickier. If a repair isn't economically worthwhile, we'll tell you honestly. Saving your photos and contacts is often still possible even then.
Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip: extra vulnerable
Foldable devices are more sensitive to water than regular smartphones. The hinge gives moisture extra ways in, and sand or dust that crept in earlier may have already compromised the seal without you noticing.
The repair takes more time as a result: we take extra care disassembling around the hinge and also clean the flex cables between the inner and outer screen, since those corrode quickly. So for a Fold or Flip, it's doubly true: the sooner you bring it in, the more we can save.
After the repair
Corrosion can come back
- A trace that's invisible today can still affect a connection later, even after thorough cleaning
- Consider the device no longer water-resistant after water damage repair: the factory seals have been opened and never close the same way again
If you notice issues again later, come back. We'll take another look under the microscope to see what's going on.
Choose your model
Water damage isn't a standard repair. Our technicians work at component level: microscope, ultrasonic bath and soldering station. Choose your Samsung model above from the list and see the fixed price per model. Not sure if your wet Samsung is still okay? Just come by in Antwerp or Wolvertem.
