What issues bring an iPhone XR in to FIXNOW?
An iPhone XR has usually already had several years of use, so besides a drop, ordinary wear often plays a role too. These are the complaints we see most often with this model:
- Back panel glass cracked or broken after a drop
- Screen cracked in the glass, while the display and touch usually still work fine
- Battery clearly draining faster than before, even with normal use
- Charging port no longer holds the cable properly or charges intermittently
Replacing the iPhone XR back panel: how does FIXNOW handle it?
The back panel of the iPhone XR is glass and sits separately from the screen and the camera. If the panel cracks after a drop, we replace only that part: the camera, the battery, and the screen stay as they are. Having the back panel replaced does not require any work on the rest of the device.
For the iPhone XR screen there is no separate glass-only repair: if the glass cracks, the entire module comes out and a new one goes in its place. You then choose between a full original screen, an OLED copy, or a more affordable LCD copy. Having the screen replaced does not affect the camera or the battery.
Data is not lost when replacing the back panel or the screen: that does not affect the device’s storage. If you still want extra peace of mind, you can make a backup yourself beforehand. You can drop by in Antwerp or Wolvertem, and if you would rather not come in person, you can also send in the device.
Is a repair still worthwhile for an iPhone XR?
An iPhone XR is by now an older device, but that does not mean a repair is no longer worthwhile. If the rest of the device still works properly, replacing the screen or the back panel is usually more affordable than switching to a new device. On top of that, all your apps, photos, and settings simply stay in place, unlike with a completely new device.
